近几年来,遵化市充分发挥山区资源优势,把发展林业作为山区人民脱贫致富奔小康的支柱产业来抓。全市林地面积已发展到91.2万亩,活立木蓄积量达101.1万立方米,分别比1984年增长42%和115.7%,森林覆盖率达46.7%,上升了19个百分点。去年,全市干鲜果品总产达1亿公斤以上,翻了一翻多,林业产值5002万元,增长了146%,有175个村靠林果收入率先进入小康行列,25个乡镇中有12个乡镇实现小康;到1995年底,再有12个乡镇达到小康水平已成定向,遵化将成为名副其实小康市。
