第一个玉米单杂交种的诞生从四十年代到五十年代,国内外玉米育种工作主要是培育应用双杂交种。学术界流行一种占优势的观点,认为玉米单杂交种只能作为生产双杂交种的亲本材料,而不能在生产上直接利用。长期以来,我国基本上沿袭“单杂交种是亲本,双杂交种是成品”的模式开展育种工作。
