1715年,英国的格拉斯特、赫尔福德、华尔斯特共同举办三城音乐节(Three Choirs Festival),这是迄今为止发掘最早的公开亮出“艺术节”旗号的艺术节,今年恰好300周年。拥有300年发展史的“艺术节”是一个非常值得研究的文化现象。本文从内在机理上对艺术节进行条清缕析的解读:艺术节是一种狂欢;是一种休闲;是一种边缘;是一种创意;是一种包容;是一种华丽。艺术节的本质是现代都市人追求诗意生活的集体行为和城市典礼。凭借着举办城市生存扎根的艺术节,必定是这座城市的文化写照与文化折射,是都市生活高品质的推广,勾勒出所在城市族群的独特形象。不断提高的中国人的文化消费能力将随着现代化与城市化的积极推进而被不断释放,他们内在的精神需求一定会被唤醒并凸显出来,并催生艺术节这样相应的形式与产业。
