五皮飲,元化方。原註:以皮冶皮,不伤中气,方出華元化中藏經。 淺說:五皮飲由大腹皮、桑白皮、茯苓皮、陈皮、生姜皮五味药物組成。按照中医文献記载:方中大腹皮作用为“下气行水”,桑白皮作用为“治水肿”、“利二便”,茯苓皮作用力“利尿”、“行水”,陈皮作用为“降气”、“行痰”,生姜皮作用为“溫胃”、“散寒”,是本方主要作用以“利尿”为主,兼有“健胃”作用。因此为中医臨床上一般最常用之利尿消肿
