Guided by the theory of feminism, this article interprets a series of experiences and feelings of the heroine Kate in the summer before dark, in the summer. It analyzes the symbolic meaning of the title, the image of Kate’s dream and the growth course of her mind, and then reveals the profound understanding of the writer Lesin.
