本文认为,修辞(尤其是深层修辞)是一种艺术创造活动。因此,按照艺术的和审美的规律,去探寻语言的艺术性、语言艺术化的运思过程和艺术创造的各种手段,揭示艺术语言负载信息的特点,就不仅是艺术语言学的任务,而且也是修辞学的职能之一。骆小所先生在《云南师范大学哲学社会科学学报》1994年第2期发表的《修辞学的性质新论》中关于“修辞学属于艺术部门而不属于科学部门”的阐述,也正是在这个意义上对修辞学的性质所作的科学界定,而郑荣馨同志对此所持的否定态度,其实质则在于未能理解艺术语言中“艺术”的含义以及“艺术”与“科学”的界限,他提出“质疑”的其中几点,前提并不存在。
