获得八○年全国农牧业科学技术研究成果技术改进一等奖的西农五十八号黄瓜,是园艺系副教授林兴、讲师崔鸿文和园艺站工人范秀玲同志经过八年时间选育成的。这个品种中晚熟,抗枯萎病能力强,能耐霜霉病,抗性很突出。在多点多品种对比试验中,其抗枯萎病能力显著超过所有品种,比抗枯萎品种长春密刺死株率低62％,其霜霉病病株指数也较抗霜霉品种津研二号低6.2％。西农五十八号黄瓜,耐热,生育期长,丰产,一般亩产一万二千斤至一万六千斤,最高可达二万斤。在多点试验中,较对照品种增产
