贺天健(1891~1977年),原名骏,后改天健,别署纫香居士,江苏无锡人。1949年后任中国美术家协会上海分会副主席、上海中国画院副院长。所画山水能于理法谨严之中彰显精神活泼之概,骀荡雄奇,不落前人窠臼。贺天健出身贫寒,9岁开始跟随肖像画家孙云泉习肖像画。十几岁便临习了沈周、文徽明的作品。青年时期,贺天健对历代各家画法作过深入钻研和探求。起先他受时风影响,从“四王”入手,同时也探索了石涛和“扬州八怪”的笔墨情趣,之后遍临梁楷等人作品,又研究唐代山水的勾斫画法,通过苦心孤诣的临习,他不但对宋元以来的山水画
