1993年12月4日,普林斯顿大学教授N.Wiles在一个e-mail中宣布,他于1993年6月对费马大定理的证明中有漏洞。他说:审稿过程中发现了几个问题,绝大多数已被解决,只留下一个未解决,将T-S猜想归结为对Seliner群的计算是不成问题的,但在半稳定椭圆曲线的情形的证明中,对于与一个模形式相应的对称方表示的Seliner群的精确上界的计算方面有漏洞。
On December 4, 1993, Princeton University professor N. Wiles announced in an e-mail that he had loopholes in the proof of Fermat’s Theorem in June 1993. He said: During the process of reviewing, several problems were discovered. The vast majority have been solved, leaving only one unresolved one. It is not a problem to attribute the TS conjecture to the computation of the Seliner group, but in the case of semi-stable elliptic curves. In the proofs, there is a loophole in the computation of the exact upper bound for the Seliner group represented by the symmetric square corresponding to a modulo form.
