The main components of Jupiter are hydrogen and helium, and its proportion is similar to the solar atmosphere. In the center of Jupiter there is a solid nucleus mainly composed of iron and silicon (where the temperature can reach 30,000°K). This core is called Jupiter’s nucleus. The outside of the core is a thick layer of hydrogen, called Jupiter. It is divided into two layers: the first layer has a pressure of 3 million atmospheres or more and the temperature is 11 000°K. The high temperature and high pressure dissociate the hydrogen molecules into separate atoms, and the high pressure causes the hydrogen to be in the liquid metal hydrogen state. This layer extends from the core to 46 000 km; the second layer extends to 70 000 km and consists of liquid molecular hydrogen. The atmosphere extends over this layer for another 1 000 km until it reaches the clouds.
