前几年,在创作《篱笆、女人和狗》、《辘轳、女人和井》,《古船、女人和网》等“农村三部曲”的过程中,我们心中就有一种热望:有朝一日,一定要把我们的笔触大面积地伸向丰富多彩的都市生活。为此,我们写了《女性世界》、《风雨恋爱角》、《越狱女囚》、《隐秘》、《特区大亨》等反映都市人生活情境的电影作品。对于我们来说,那实际是一种准备,一种积累,一种训练。我们自己更看重的,也更努力的,则是从《雾、海、帆》开始的这“都市三部曲”。在这三部作品中,我们将对都市人的生存状态与精神现实给以格外的关注,就像前几年我们格外关注当代农民的生存状态和精神现
