北京大學理學院及工學院教授曾昭掄等四十八人,為美國政府非法拘留我國科學家錢學森等四人的事件,特致電現在華沙開幕的第二屆世界保衛和平大會,請該會主持正義,制止美國政府此種法西斯暴行。電文如下: 華沙二屆世界保衛和平大會: 美國政府侵犯人权,非法地拘留我國科學家錢學森博士趙忠堯教授等四人,並無理地阻撓留美之中國學生回國,我們對美國政府這種蠻横無理的舉動,表示萬分憤慨。希望二屆和大主持正義,制止美國政府這種法西斯行爲,立即恢復他們的自由,讓他們回到祖國來。
