Reni and Eckhart are the images of two rebellious women carefully crafted by the southern American writer Yudra Welti. In the novel Golden Apple, two characters are implanted into a specific ladylike cultural context, Body imagery contains a wealth of metaphorical symbols. From the perspective of physical aesthetics, this article analyzes the social and cultural connotations of specific body descriptions and explores how the two women use body expressions to demonstrate spiritual rebellion, gain social approval and eventually realize themselves. Through the dissolution of the traditional values of the American ladies’ culture by these two roles, the evolution of American southern culture, which is metaphorically narrated by the body, can be vividly shown.
