Piping is one of the most economical and effective tools to transport natural gas or petroleum over long distances. When the pipeline crosses the permafrost zone, it will face pipe bending deformation and damage caused by frost heave and thaw. The interaction between pipe and soil is Piping design and operation in the permafrost area is an important consideration. In this paper, the development of the design theory of the main pipelines crossing the permafrost region in the world (Luo Manjing Pipeline, the Russian Far East Pipeline, the Alaska Pipeline in the United States and the Pipeline Network in the Cold Regions of China) is briefly reviewed. At the same time, Numerical simulation analysis of the theory and methods of research results and development status, and for the study of soil-soil interaction in permafrost area, further research prospects.
