Objective To observe the clinical application of preoperative midazolam in patients with cancer. METHODS: Thirty patients with ASA II-III grade were selected, including 17 males and 13 females, aged 28-69 years and weighing 50-78 kg. The patient was examined on the afternoon of the day before the operation to obtain data on the relevant physiological indicators. Midazolam was injected intramuscularly 0.05 mg/kg 30 minutes before surgery. At the same time intramuscular injection of atropine 0.5mg. [Results] After 20 to 35 minutes of intramuscular administration of azozolium, the patient basically went to sleep. When entering the operating room, the patient was mostly in a sleep state. The patient could be awake, the mood was stable, and the hemodynamics had certain changes, but there was no statistical significance. Four patients did not sleep, and these 4 patients were usually associated with greater alcohol consumption and obesity. Injection of drugs failed to reach the muscular layer. After the follow-up, the patient had almost no memory in entering the operating room. Conclusion The short-term effect of midazolam and rapid biotransformation is one of the ideal preoperative medications to eliminate preoperative mental stress in patients with cancer.
