改革开放是海南的生命线用足用好中央赋予的特殊政策,把海南建成全国生态文明示范区、面向东南亚对外开放的桥头堡、重要国际交往和文化交流平台。“我们正在搞一个更大的特区,这就是海南岛经济特区。海南岛好好发展起来,是很了不起的”。26年前小平同志极富远见、满怀期望的亲切话语犹在耳边。弹指一挥,海南迎来了建省办经济特区25周年。25年来,改革开放把海南由一个贫穷、落后、封闭的边陲海岛变成了一个绿色、开放、特色经济欣欣向荣的经济特区。

Over the past 25 years, through the reform and opening up, Hainan has been transformed from a poor, backward and closed Beibu Island into a green, open and prosperous special economic zone.
