Andersen is one of the greatest fairy tale writers in the world. He was born in 1805 as a shoemaker family in Odense, Denmark, where his father died at the age of 11 and his mother was a man who washes his clothes. His mother had to soak in the cold water all day and work hard to refresh her face and resist the cold, so she was discriminated against. These bittersweet years, in his fairy tale “She is a waste” has been a real and warm reflection. Poverty did not stifle his dream of pursuing a happy future. Humbleness strengthened his determination to make a living. He imagined being a singer, actress or playwright. At the age of 14, he went to Copenhagen alone, but only got a minor role in the Theater of the Rings. He later read books for a period of time and went to Copenhagen University to study with a kind and enthusiastic person.
