护环(又名套箍)套装于发电机转子两端,保护转子线圈的端部,防止在高速旋转下由于离心力的作用出现大的径向位移。它是发电机受力最大的部件之一,因此对强度和模量要求很高。它的可靠性对发电机组运行的安全可靠性影响极大。 运转时,护环承受自身及端部线圈重量所产生的离心力、护环内外表面温差产生的热应力等,其中主要是离心力,热应力所占的比重极小。
Retaining rings (aka ferrules) are sleeved on both ends of the generator rotor to protect the ends of the rotor coils and prevent large radial displacements due to centrifugal forces at high speeds. It is one of the most stressed components of a generator and therefore requires high strength and modulus. Its reliability has a tremendous impact on the safety and reliability of the genset operation. During operation, the retaining ring withstands the centrifugal force generated by itself and the weight of the coil at the end and the thermal stress generated by the temperature difference between the inner and the outer surfaces of the retaining ring, among which the centrifugal force and the thermal stress occupy a very small proportion.
