美国一百余年的西部开发,是在一种比较“纯粹”的状态下进行的。它既不同于以能源开发为基础的苏联西伯利亚及远东的开发,更有别于以国土整治和国土规划为目标的日本小区域综合开发,而是在特殊的地理环境、历史条件、社会制度和国力基础之上形成了一个独特的美国西部开发模式。研究这个模式,对于丰富区域经济学和开发经济学理论,为中国西部的开发提供经验,无疑具有重大的理论意义和现实意义。
The development of the western region in the United States for a hundred years is carried out in a relatively “pure” state. It is different from the development of the Soviet Union in Siberia and the Far East based on energy development.
