清明菜学名鼠曲草(Gnaphliunm affine D.Don),又名鼠耳草、佛耳菜,或称“绵絮头”、“寒食菜”、“棉菜”,民间草药名为“追骨风”,系菊科鼠曲草属植物。嫩茎叶可煮食,亦可捣汁做饼食用。民间常于清明前后采摘嫩苗煮熟,揉米粉做糕团,味甚甜美,香糯可口。清明菜性平,味甘,无毒。全草富含黄酮甙、挥发油、生物碱、甾醇以及维生素B、胡萝卜素、叶绿素、树脂等,花含木犀草素。食后能扩张局部血管,可用以治疗消化性溃疡、创伤和降血压,还有祛痰、镇咳、镇痛、祛风湿之功效,是深受民间欢迎的保健野生蔬菜,值得人工大量繁殖推广。
