图形-背景理论是认知语言学中的一个重要概念,它被广泛地用来分析各种语言现象,如:用来表示空间位置的介词、被动句、分裂句、倒装句等,并显示出较好的可操作性和可行性。但该理论在英语复句上的应用分析,相对来说,还比较少见。基于此点,本文通过分析小说《儿子与情人》中的复句发现,该理论在复句的分析方面具有较强的可行性,但还有诸多的问题待以解决,理论本身也还具有一定的局限性。
Graphic-background theory is an important concept in cognitive linguistics.
