萝卜是一种含维生素、蛋白质和矿物盐等营养成份的常规蔬菜,但它只有冬季才上市。近年,江苏省从日本引进的一种全年都可以播种、生长、上市的四季萝卜,经试种已获成功,可解决萝卜断档难题。日本四季萝卜生长期仅需65~70天,萝卜单个重250~500g,一季亩产可达4500~5000kg。这种萝卜外皮呈乳白色,个体长30~50cm,由于它粗纤维含量少,肉质极细,辣味轻,很适宜生吃。在日本和东南亚一些国家,用这种萝卜腌制的酱萝卜,色泽金黄透明,脆嫩适口,风味独特,深受消费者欢迎。
