The Singapore Supreme Court is an important new justice center envisioned in response to the rapidly growing population and the old courts with limited facilities. Situated in the colonial zone on the northern shores of Singapore, the court is inspired by the size of the neighboring city houses and offers a reinterpretation of the colonial modernity with a solemn, transparent and open image. The building contains 12 civil courts, 8 criminal courts and 3 appeals courts as well as facilities for law schools in Singapore, and its structure reflects the hierarchy of the judicial system.
