In recent years, the relationship between abnormal lipid metabolism and preeclampsia has drawn people’s attention. The current study confirms that the lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 (LOX-1) specifically binds to and metabolizes oxidized low density lipoprotein , OXLDL), mediate a series of pathological changes induced by OXLDL, including apoptosis, vascular endothelial injury and play an important role in the development of cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. However, LOX-1 is highly expressed in placental blood vessels and trophoblasts in preeclampsia. Therefore LOX-1 may be one of the key factors in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia by mediating the effect of OXLDL on the apoptosis and vascular injury of trophoblast cells. This article summarizes the related research situation at home and abroad in recent years.
