中国历史的悠久与诗歌的发达,均是世界著名的,但是由于上古史料的严重缺失和我们传统的学术观念使然,加上学者们多有畏难的心理,因此,研究上古艺术与探讨中国诗歌发生源头的著作向来并不多见。张树国博士新作《乐舞与仪式——中国上古祭歌形态研究》(天津古籍出版社2003年6月版),知难而上,紧紧抓住上古艺术诗、乐、舞三位一体,宗教、伦理、政治及人生浑然难分的文化特点,对中国远古艺术与诗歌起源及相关问题进行了独具特色的研究,在上古祭仪、乐官制度、仪式生活、仪式美学等诸多方面均有创获,在先秦诗、乐关系的研究方面,尤多新见。是上古诗歌研究方面非常引人注目的一部力作。就笔者所见,该书具有如下
