《藩篱》是丹泽尔·华盛顿的最新导演作品,由奥古斯特·威尔逊的同名舞台剧改编而来。电影描述了上世纪五十年代美国黑人的家庭日常。琐碎平庸的日常生活、步步紧逼的经济压力、父子间不断升级的矛盾、濒临崩溃的夫妻关系等,让整个家庭摇摇欲坠。终于,在父亲特洛伊去世后,后院具有象征意义的藩篱终于修好,新的家庭秩序修复。论文试从父子关系、夫妻关系、种族关系三个方面讨论“藩篱”的象征意义。
“Fence” is Denzel Washington’s latest directorpiece, adapted from August Wilson’s stage play of the same name. The movie describes Afro-American families in the 1950s as everyday. Trivial everyday life, pressing economic pressure gradually, escalation contradictions between father and son, the verge of collapse of the relationship between husband and wife, so that the whole family crumbling. Finally, after the death of his father Troy, the symbolic fence of the backyard was finally repaired and the new family order restored. The thesis tries to discuss the symbolic meaning of “fence ” from three aspects: father-son relationship, husband-wife relationship and race relationship.
