In this paper,an inherent property that secondorder systems, which can be stable, have the Self-Stable Regions (SSRs) isproposed. Based on this property, a new synthesis method--theSelf-Stable Region approach is suggested for a class of second-ordonlinear uncertain systems. The global stability of the closed-loopsystems is proved. Lastly, the advantages of the SSR approach areanalyzed.
