按照沃尔夫林《艺术风格学》的分类,西方绘画可分为线条图形和块面图形两种,并且,无论是传统的写实性绘画还是后来的现代绘画,一般都要做草图、打草稿,一次性“直呈”的方式极为少见。但中国书法的基本语素却是带有一定空间造型的点画,是在流动的、不可回逆的时间流程中被塑造出来,所以,以西方艺术中常说的线条节奏、块面节奏来分析中国书法,存在着很明显的认识论的错位。
