Objective To analyze and compare the clinical features of young and old patients with gastric cancer. Methods 400 cases of gastric cancer confirmed by pathology, as the object of this study, according to the patient’s age and 60-year-old line, divided into middle-aged and young group, 200 cases in each group. The clinical data of two groups of patients were analyzed and compared, and for the two groups of patients with gastric cancer clinical manifestations, tumor sites, treatment methods and other related data analysis. Results The number of patients with gastric cancer who were emaciated and bloated in the elderly group was higher than those in the middle-aged group. The number of abdominal pain and upper abdominal mass was lower in the elderly group than in the middle-aged group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). Elderly patients with disease duration of less than 3 months in younger patients than in young group, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P <0.05). The number of elderly patients with cancer at the bottom of the cardia was higher than that of the middle-aged and young patients. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). However, the number of tumor located in the antrum was higher in the middle-aged group than in the elderly group, with significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). The radical resection rate in young group was lower than that in elderly group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion There is a big difference in clinical manifestation, course of disease, location of tumor, radical resection and so on in middle-aged and young patients.
