In recent years, there have been some noteworthy changes in the political participation of Asian Americans in the United States. Not only have Asian-age eligible voters participating in the election registration and voting increased, but also the number of elected and appointed Asian officials has also risen. Regional and ethnic diversity have also emerged. Ethnic organizations, the mobilization of Asian elites and elected officials for political participation have also become more and more active. However, on the whole, the level of political participation and influence of Asians are obviously inferior to blacks and even Hispanics. This article explores the status of Asian political participation and the gap between them and even Hispanics. In combination with the research paradigms of American scholars, this article analyzes the reasons for the low level of Asian political participation.
