1999年12月到2000年2月上旬,市面上的黄瓜瓜条色淡,切开后果向内有空隙。我所承包的100亩温室黄瓜上市时,90％以上瓜条淡绿,也出现了这种现象。我认为主要是室温不高、地温较低导致根系不发,影响了正常的生理活性,输送功能减弱所致。黄瓜根群分布的0～20厘米地温远远低于根系发育的适温界限25℃。
