The authors point out that if one looks more closely, one finds that the complexities of inheritance and memory that reflect the diversity of urban societies are not new and are even at the core of modern urbanism. In the conclusion, the author points out that urbanity is now the object of resolute defense by politicians, urban planners, social scientists, and institutions outside the urban system, and even by alternative actors. In addition to economy and real estate, the meaning of urbanization is to recall the “urban lifestyle” of the past. What we try to keep is not just the city itself, but also the value of the city.
