Once there was a bluebird who liked to brag. He looked at the sky， he looked at his wings， and he smiled. 从前有一只自大的知更鸟，他看了看天空，看了看他自己的翅膀，然后他笑了。
　　“How fine I look！” thought the bluebird. “I am as blue as the sky！” “我看起来多漂亮啊。”知更鸟想道，“我像天空一样蓝。”
　　The bluebird flew high and low in the blue sky. 知更鸟在空中飞上飞下。
　　The bluebird saw a mouse. 知更鸟看到一只老鼠。
　　“Hello！” said the bluebird to the mouse. “It is a beautiful day， isn't it？” “你好。”知更鸟对老鼠说。“今天天气真好啊，是吗？”
　　“Yes， it is a beautiful day，” said the mouse. “是的，今天天气很好。”老鼠说。
　　“The sky is a beautiful blue. I am blue， too.” “天空是美丽的蓝色。我也是蓝色的。”
　　said the bluebird. “I am beautiful， like the blue sky.” 知更鸟说。“我像蓝色的天空一样美丽。”
　　“Oh，” sighed the mouse. “I am not blue. I am gray. I am not the color of the sky.” The bluebird laughed and flew away. “噢。”老鼠叹气道，“我不是蓝色，我是灰色，我不是天空的颜色。”知更鸟笑着飞走了。
　　The bluebird saw a flamingo.知更鸟看到一只火烈鸟。
　　“Hello！” said the bluebird. “It is a beautiful day， isn't it？”“你好。”知更鸟说。“今天天气真好啊，不是吗？”
　　“Yes，” said the flamingo. “It is a fine and sunny day.”“是的。”火烈鸟说。“这是个又好又晴朗的天。”
　　“Look at the beautiful blue sky，” said the bluebird. “I am blue， like the sky.” “看，蓝色的天空。”知更鸟说。“我也是蓝色的，像天空一样。”
　　“I am pink，” said the flamingo. “Blue is better than pink，” bragged the bluebird. “Blue is the color of the sky！” “我是粉色的，”火烈鸟说。“蓝色比粉色好看。”知更鸟自夸道。“蓝色是天空的颜色！”


　　“Oh，” said the flamingo. “I am not the color of the sky.” The flamingo was angry. He flew away without saying good-bye. “噢。”火烈鸟说。“我不是天空的颜色。”火烈鸟生气了，他没有说再见就飞走了。
　　The bluebird looked up. He saw a blackbird at the top of a tree. 知更鸟向上看。他看到了一只乌鸦在树顶上。
　　“Hello！” said the bluebird. “It is a beautiful day， isn't it？” “你好。”知更鸟说。“今天天气真好啊，不是吗？”
　　“Yes， it is.” said the blackbird. “是的。”乌鸦说。
　　“I am blue， like the sky，” said the bluebird. “我是蓝色的，像天空一样。”知更鸟说。
　　“I am not blue，” said the blackbird. “I am black.” “我不是蓝色的。”乌鸦说。“我是黑色的。”
　　“Blue is better than black，” bragged the bluebird. “Blue is the color of the sky.” “蓝色比黑色好看。”知更鸟自夸道。“蓝色是天空的颜色。”
