On the basis of the meter-6, the MI-Design Bureau developed the M-10 heavy lift helicopter. Mi-10’s main features are: slender body, no cargo hold, using a higher four-point landing gear, in order to carry goods glide directly to the goods to be hoisted above. In June 1960, the first Mi-10 prototype completed its first pilot flight. In May 1961, the second Mi-10 prototype was on display at the Soviet Air Show. In September 1961, Soviet test pilot M-10 created a world record of raising the load of 15,000 kg to a height of 2326 meters.
