武汉大学刘绪贻教授是当代中国社会科学界著名大师。近十年来他寄赠我多本著作,其中一本特别引起我重视的是他早年的新奇论著《中国的儒学统治》,此书副标题为“既得利益抵制社会变革的典型事例”。2012年是刘先生100周岁华诞,我想借此百年一遇的良机,对这本书作出简介,并且写下我的学习体会,以深表我对先生的诚挚贺忱和崇高敬意。刘先生这部大作,从形式上来看有三点新奇之处。第一,本书原是他于1944—1947年在美国芝加哥大学攻读社会学的硕士论文,曾经被芝加哥大学一位著
Professor Liu Xuyi of Wuhan University is a famous master of contemporary Chinese social science circles. In the past ten years, he has sent me many books. One of the books that caught my attention in particular was his early novel “Confucianism in China”, a subtitle of “A Typical Case of Vested Interests Resisting Social Changes.” 2012 is Mr. Liu’s 100th birthday. I would like to take this golden opportunity to make a brief introduction to this book and write down my learning experience so as to express my sincere greetings and esteem to my husband.
