桑树多倍体育种的研究,日本、苏联开展较早,积累了许多资料。一般认为四倍体桑叶形大、叶肉厚、叶质好、饲料效率高,但发条数少,枝条伸长短。产桑量低,孕性差,未能直接用于生产。杨今后(1984,1989)和作者(1989,1990)的研究结果大致相似,但从处理桑树杂种实生苗诱导获得104份四倍体桑植株中,发现有些长势强的材料,初步选出13份与推广品种塘10×伦109为对照进行比较,经2年试验,选出具有高产、优质的四倍体桑有粤诱4号、粤诱6号、粤诱12号、粤诱26号和粤诱
