胰岛因子1(ISL1)是重要的转录因子,在胚胎发育期广泛分布于全身多种组织细胞,而在成体组织中主要表达于胰岛和神经组织。在胰腺中,ISL1主要调控胰岛素、胰高血糖素、生长抑素、胰多肽等内分泌激素的表达,在胚胎期促进胰腺背侧间充质细胞和胰岛内分泌细胞的分化、发育、成熟,在出生后通过抑制细胞凋亡、促进细胞增殖来维持胰岛β细胞数量的稳态。ISL1通过与基因启动子上的特定元件TAAT/ATTA结合,并与其它蛋白质相互作用,实现对下游靶基因的转录调控,以完成多种生理功能。
Islet 1 (ISL1) is an important transcription factor, widely distributed throughout the embryonic body in a variety of tissue cells, while in adult tissues is mainly expressed in islets and nerve tissue. In the pancreas, ISL1 mainly regulates the expression of endocrine hormones such as insulin, glucagon, somatostatin, pancreatic polypeptide and promotes the differentiation, development and maturation of mesenchymal and pancreatic islet endocrine cells in the embryonic stage. After the inhibition of apoptosis by promoting cell proliferation to maintain the number of islet β cell steady state. ISL1 binds to TAAT / ATTA, a specific element on the promoter of the gene, and interacts with other proteins to regulate the transcription of downstream target genes to accomplish a variety of physiological functions.
