对点对点通信,数据的可靠传输常使用自动重复请求(ARQ)技术,而前向纠错(FEC)多用于半可靠实时传输.然而,ARQ用于多目广播的性能不佳[1].本文提出一种新的可靠多目广播的差错控制方法—集成FEC,对其性能进行了理论分析和模拟研究,并与一般的重传方式进行了比较.研究表明:对于可靠多目广播,集成FEC与重传相比不仅可以减少传输时间,而且在多数网络环境下还会降低带宽需求.它们之间的性能差异随接收方数目的增加而扩大,即集成IFEC具有更好的可伸缩性,适于较大规模的广播组.
For point-to-point communication, automatic repeat request (ARQ) technology is often used for reliable data transmission, while forward error correction (FEC) is mostly used for semi-reliable real-time transmission. However, the performance of ARQ for multicasting is poor [1]. In this paper, we propose a new reliable error control method for multi-view broadcast-integrated FEC. The theoretical analysis and simulation of its performance are carried out and compared with the general retransmission methods. Research shows that for reliable multi-cast, integrated FEC not only reduces transmission time compared to retransmissions, but also reduces bandwidth requirements in most network environments. The performance difference between them increases with the number of receivers, that is, the integrated IFEC has better scalability and is suitable for larger-scale broadcast groups.
