Language is a system of symbols has become a consensus. However, the relationship between linguistic symbols and their meanings is described separately. First, arbitrarily speaking, there is no natural connection between the signifier and the signifier. First, it is reasonable to say that linguistic signs are iconic. Some scholars also advocate the iconic dialectical view that both the combination of both, that is, a combination of arbitrary and iconic. This paper argues that linguistic signs are the continuum between the arbitrary and the iconic but not the bipolar.
