I. INTRODUCTION Methanol and mixed carbon IV are the main raw materials for etherification. They contain trace amounts of metal cations that can inactivate strongly acidic cation exchange resins. Therefore, the determination of methanol, mixed carbon and cation exchange resin in the metal ions is very necessary. In this paper, the trace calcium, magnesium, sodium and iron ions in the etherification reaction were studied by atomic absorption spectrometry.
