Carlo Rose’s artistic creation began in the 1980s. In the past ten years, she has created a considerable number of oil paintings. But several conversations with John Copeland led her to move quickly and steadily toward sculpture. This shift was originally derived from the involvement of planar and irregular shapes in landscape patterns, followed by shading and stretching. The paintings were also masked and totemized, but not avuncular; only the frame of canvas was left behind, the canvas and paint disappeared, and eventually wood or aluminum was formed in the early 90s Sculpture works.
