2012年以来,国内轮胎企业纷纷走出国门,在海外设厂。据中国橡胶工业协会统计,截至8月底,我国已有5家轮胎企业在国外建设生产基地。赛轮股份有限公司在越南投资设立的赛轮(越南)有限公司位于越南胡志明市西北方向约50km的西宁省福东工业园区,投资总额9500万美元,主要从事轮胎的生产和销售以及模具、设备、橡胶材料等的研发,年销售规模将达2.6亿美元。该项目于2012年2月初获批,目前正在建设当中,有望年底投产,这意味着赛轮股份将成为我国第1个在海外生产轮胎的企业。
