On August 2, 2000, Mr. Tan Xiangjin, vice president of the Library Society of China and a professor of library science at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangdong Province, passed through Xi’an and was invited by Mr. Ma Minyu, director of the Shaanxi Provincial Library, to make an impromptu report for all staff in Shaanxi Provincial Library.
