有关高压火箭发动机的研究工作始于第二次世界大战期间的德国。MBB公司在1955年着手并继续开展了这方面的工作。为了发展高压火箭发动机重要技术领域中的专门技术,进行了一些课题研究,其中有的是国际间的合作项目。尽管美国直接把这种技术应用在航天飞机主发动机上,但欧洲由于经费的原因停止了把这种高压技术应用在HM7——阿里安Ⅰ—Ⅳ运载火箭的发动机上。目前准备把这种高压推进技术用在阿里安V 运载火箭的发动机HM60上。也在考虑把其它技术应用在未来的欧洲推进系统中,以增加载人和不载人飞行的能力和效果。日本LE-7发动机规划中也同样可望采用高压火箭推进技术。
Research on high-pressure rocket engines began in Germany during World War II. MBB embarked on and continued its work in this area in 1955. In order to develop the expertise in the important technical fields of high-pressure rocket motors, a number of research projects were carried out, among which some were international cooperation projects. Although the United States directly applied this technology to the main engine of the space shuttle, Europe has stopped using this high-voltage technology on the engine of the HM7 - Arian I-Ⅳ launch vehicle because of funding reasons. It is now ready to use this high-pressure propulsion technology on the HM60 engine of the Alian V launch vehicle. Other technologies are also being considered for application in future European propulsion systems to increase the capabilities and effects of manned and unmanned flights. Japan’s LE-7 engine program is also expected to use high-pressure rocket propulsion technology.
