在学校里经常会听到这样的话:“这篇文章得细细咀嚼”、“读书不要急来抱佛脚”。人们听了以上的话,一般都能理解:“咀嚼”不是指“用牙齿磨碎食物”的意思,而是指“对事物反复体会”;“抱佛脚”不是指“(烧香时)用双臂去抱住佛像的脚”,而是指“平时没有准备,临时慌忙应付”。上述“咀嚼”、“抱佛脚”两词语的前一个意思,乃是词的本义,后一个意思,则是词的比喻义。
Often heard in schools like this: “This article has to chewing,” “Reading not rush to cuddle.” When people listen to the above, they generally understand that “chewing” does not mean “grinding food with your teeth” but means “recognizing things repeatedly”. “Budging feet” does not mean “when burning incense” with your arms. “Hold the foot of the Buddha,” but it means “unprepared, temporarily hurrying to meet.” The preceding meaning of the words “chewing” and “cuckoo feet” is the original meaning of the word. The latter meaning is the metaphorical meaning of the word.
