Literary works are often portraits and epitomes of a country and a national culture, so literary translation is to a large extent a cultural translation and an intercultural communication. As the translator, the translator’s translation practice is not a simple conversion of linguistic signs. Instead, he transforms between two different cultures represented by two languages. This requires translators not only to have a solid bilingual ability, to have a sensitive cultural awareness and give full play to their subjective initiative, according to the different cultural orientation to take appropriate translation strategies, so as to successfully transfer the original message and meaning.
