Objective To understand the current situation of AIDS health education among ethnic college students and the differences among undergraduates of different majors in order to provide a scientific basis for implementing AIDS health education in ethnic schools. Methods A stratified sampling method was used to randomly select 974 undergraduates of Grade I, II, III and IV in our school to conduct a questionnaire survey. Results The students had good mastery of the three major routes of transmission, with positive rates of over 90% and more knowledge of other knowledge. There is widespread fear and discrimination among students. Medical students and non-medical students grasp the AIDS knowledge and attitude toward AIDS, behavior differences were statistically significant, medical students than non-medical students. Conclusions At this stage, AIDS education is one-sided and its education on students’ attitudes is not enough. AIDS awareness activities should be based on the professional characteristics and needs of students to develop content.
