1月9日获悉:一批世界信息产业大型企业联合发起颁布“网络计算机基准规范概要1”,这是一种用来访问Internet的低价位机的规范。参与这一工作的有IBM、Netscape、Oracle及Sun等公司,除此之外,Adobe、Corel、DEC、摩托罗拉、NEC等30余家公司则表示支持该规范的总体大纲。该规范对硬件平台没有特殊要求,对功能和规程的要求也保持在了最低限度。据悉,1997年的苹果NC则会将Mac OS、牛顿和未来技术集为一身。下久前面世的Pippin家庭新成员“World”,几乎满足了所有NC标准。“World”的上市使苹果电脑公司在NC市场上抢得了先机。IBM公司
