姜堰市地处苏中平原,因古时长江、淮河、黄海在姜堰汇聚,故称“三水”。北宋年间,洪水泛滥,姜仁惠、姜谔父子仗义疏财,率领民众筑堰抗洪,保护了一方百姓生命财产,古镇由此名为姜堰。目前全市人口91万人,土地面积1044平方公里,城区总面积18平方公里,辖姜堰镇、溱潼镇、顾高镇、蒋垛镇、大伦镇、白米镇、娄庄镇、沈高镇、俞垛镇、兴泰镇、张甸镇、梁徐镇、桥头镇、淤溪镇、华港镇等
Jiangyan City is located in the Soviet Union in the plains, because ancient times the Yangtze River, Huaihe, Yellow Sea converge in Jiangyan, so called “Sanshui ”.
