Objective: To study the relationship between pregnant women infected with cytomegalovirus (CMV), toxoplasma (TO), parvovirus B19 and abnormal fertility. Methods: PCR, the CMV, TO and B19 DNA in 207 pregnant women and women with abnormal pregnancy were detected in the blood, cervix, abortion and amniotic fluid in pregnant women. The control group of 210 pregnant women were tested for CMV, TO and B19 DNA. Results: The positive rates of CMV, TO and B19 DNA in experimental group were 16.91% (35/207), 11.11% (23/207) and 9.18% (19/207) respectively. The positive rates of CMV, TO and B19DNA in control group were 5.24% (11/210), 3.33% (7/210) and 1.90% (4/210) respectively. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P <0.01). Conclusion: Pregnant women infected with CMV, TO and B19 are closely related to abnormal fertility.
